Scholarship
Application Deadline for Fall Quarter: August
25, 2010

| The
Lanier Tech Foundation, through donations from business,
industry, civic organizations, and individuals, provide
scholarships for deserving students. These funds may
supplement federal and state grants and may be used
for both direct and indirect costs associated with educational
expenses incurred during the period awarded. The Lanier
Tech Financial Aid Office announces the availability
of external scholarships as openings arise. Lanier Tech
Foundation Scholarship applications will be reviewed
and awarded by the Foundation Scholarship Committee.

ALBIN
A. KOSMALA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria & Eligibility for Selection
- Candidate
must be enrolled in or an applicant for one of the
following programs: Machine Tool Technology, Industrial
Maintenance Technology or Electronics Technology.
- Kosmala
Memorial Scholarship will be awarded, in priority
order, to a current Wrigley's employee, a dependent
of a Wrigley's employee or to a member of the community.
- The
Lanier Technical College Foundation Scholarship Committee
will award the scholarship based upon their normal
review procedure, evaluation of the Albin A. Kosmala
Memorial Scholarship criteria, and the applicant's
academic and personal record.
- One
recipient per academic year will be selected. The
scholarship will be dispersed at quarterly intervals.
- Completed
Albin A. Kosmala Scholarship application must be submitted.

KENNETH H. BREEDEN SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria & Eligibility for Selection
- Applicants
must have used their maximum allowed HOPE Grant or
Scholarship hours prior to applying for this scholarship.
- Applicants
must not have received a Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Applicants
must have been previously approved for HOPE Grant
or HOPE Scholarship funding.
- Applicants
must be in good academic standing in accordance with
college guidelines.
- Applicants
must submit a letter of recommendation from an advisor
or instructor.
- Award
amount will not exceed $500 per recipient.
- Applicants
must complete a Kenneth H. Breeden Scholarship application
which is available in the Financial Aid Office.
- Awards
will be made on a first come, first serve basis.

Richard S. (Stan) Gault Education Scholarship

Criteria & Eligibility for Selection
- $1,000 scholarship (will be paid for spring semester 2011)
- Non-traditional student, defined as a student who is pursuing education later in life (not right out of high school); could be an undergraduate or graduate student who has decided to go back to school
- Primary residence is in Forsyth County, Ga.
- Must exhibit a strong desire for further education and academic achievement

KUBOTA MANUFACTURING OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria & Eligibility for Selection
- Applicant
for the KMA scholarship must apply for admission to
a manufacturing related certificate program.
- Submit
a completed scholarship application which is available
in the Financial Aid Office.
- Submit
a Georgia HOPE Scholarship & Grant Application.
- Submit
a letter of recommendation from responsible member
of the community, such as employer or teacher, capable
of reporting applicant's work record, leadership,
notable skills and academic history, if applicable.

ALTRUSA INTERNATIONAL OF NORTH GEORGIA

The goal of the Altrusa International of North Georgia Scholarship
is to financially assist students who attend Lanier Technical
College with their cost of education. Annual awards will be
made to students meeting the eligibility criteria as determined
and approved by the Foundation Scholarship Committee and by
the Altrusa Club members. Students may use appropriated funds
for tuition, books, supplies, other educational fees or personal
expenses needed to pursue their career education.
Eligibility Criteria & Application Process
- Applicants
must complete and submit a Lanier Technical College
Foundation Scholarship application.
- Applicants
must reside in North Georgia and attend any of Lanier
Technical College's five campuses.
- Applicants
must be a single mother
- Applicants
must be in good academic standing in accordance within
college guidelines.
- Applicants
must submit a letter of recommendation from an advisor
or instructor or a personal letter of reference.
- Deadline
for application and supporting documentation must
be submitted to the Financial Aid Office three weeks
prior to registration for the quarter aid is requested.

Selection
Process
- Awards
will be made on a first come, first serve bases.
- The
Lanier Technical College Foundation Scholarship Committee
will submit applications based upon their normal review
procedure, evaluation of the Altrusa International
of North Georgia Scholarship criteria, and the applicant's
academic record if applicable.
- Altrusa
International of North Georgia will select final recipients
and award three $1000 scholarships annually.

Award
Information
- Three
$1000 annual scholarships will be dispersed to students
at quarterly intervals, provided the recipient is
in good academic standing in accordance with college
guidelines.
- Award
amount will not exceed $1000 per recipient.
- Students
who withdraw from Lanier Technical College before
the end of the quarter funds are awarded, must re-pay
the full amount received back to The Lanier Technical
College Foundation to be put back into the Altrusa
International of North Georgia Scholarship fund.

Criteria & Eligibility for Selection
- Applicant
must be attending the Forsyth Campus.
- Must
reside in Forsyth County.
- Have
two personal references.
- Applicant
must write an essay defining goals and explaining
why they should be considered.
- One
recipient per academic year is selected. The scholarship
will be disbursed at quarterly intervals.
- Completed
Reid Memorial Scholarship application must be submitted.

must be resident of Dawson & Lumpkin County.
- Submit
a completed scholarship application, which is available
in the Financial Aid Office.
- Submit
a short letter along with the completed application
explaining the need for financial assistance and a
listing of specific costs that you require assistance
with.
- Letter
of recommendation from faculty member or responsible
member of the community.

- Applicants
must be in good academic standing in accordance with
college and Financial Aid guidelines.
- Applicant
must be a resident of Forsyth County.
- Submit
a United Way Scholarship Application.
- Submit
a letter of recommendation from an advisor, instructor
or a responsible member of the community capable of
reporting applicants' work record, leadership and
notable skills.
- Submit
a letter explaining the need for financial assistance.
- Application
and other documentation must be submitted to the Financial
Aid Office two weeks prior to registration for the
quarter aid is requested.

- Applicants
must be enrolled in Automotive Program
- Applicants
must be enrolled full time.
- Must
have completed a minimum of 25 credit hours.
- Must
provide two letters of recommendation.
- Must
provide official sealed transcripts from all college
work completed to date.
- Must
write a personal essay.

For Cosmetology Students
- Scholarships
are available to students pursuing a career in cosmetology.
These scholarships are typically available twice a
year in January and July. Deadline for applications
is June 30 and December 31. Check with Financial Aid
Office for applications.

Criteria
& Eligibility for Selection
Scholarships provide financial assistance to Early Care
and Education professionals who:
- Work
in a licensed center or a registered family or group
care home, and
- Work
at least 25 hours a week as a teacher/assistant teacher
or 40 hours per week as a director/assistant director,
and
- Earns
less than $14.45 per hour, and
- Enrolled
in an eligible institution in an approved program
of study.

Criteria & Eligibility for Selection
- Proximity
of the applicant's residence to the American Proteins
Plant located in North Forsyth County in Cumming,
Georgia
- Demonstration
of financial need as verified by documents filed in
the Lanier Technical College Financial Aid office
- Attachment
of a one page personal explanation of applicants current
need and plans for the future
- Applicant's
pledge, by signed application, to repay the college
foundation an amount equal to award received (this
stipulation can be achieved over the student's lifetime.)
- Student
must have a current Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) on file.
- Student
must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all coursework
attempted at Lanier Technical College
