Lanier
Technical College is offering two technical certificates of
credit which are designed to provide an introduction to solar
systems design and installation. Both the Architectural
Drafter and the Electrical
Technician programs provide the foundation for
and accrue credits for further education and training in solar
studies.
The
Architectural Drafter program provides training
in drafting and architectural fundamentals and the use of
AutoCAD. The skills that are taught in this program can
be applied to solar systems design and other types of green
building design. Additionally, the program provides the
foundation for and accrues credits for further education
and training in Drafting.
The
Electrical Technician program provides training
in basic electrical systems installation through instruction
in direct current circuits, alternating current, solid state
devices, industrial wiring, and print reading. The skills
that are taught in this program can be applied to solar
systems installation and other types of green building systems
installation. Additionally, the program provides the foundation
for and accrues credits for further education and training
in Electronics Technology and Industrial Systems Technology.
